Thma Bay Kaek

小さな祠堂が二基斜めに並んでいるので、Thma Bay Kaek Group と言う事らしい。
手前には煉瓦の基礎のように見えるものがある、三基並んでいただろうか。
Prasat Bey との間にも一つ祠堂がある。


ラテライトの基壇で装飾も無く、のっぺりした感じ。

右後方に小さな祠堂がもう一つある。付随した寺院だったろうか？

Thma Bay Kaek is a group of very small ruins and facing to the moat of Angkor Thom. The stylobate section of the laterite and portion of structure above upper deck of the brick making remain.
An excavation of the site discovered, under the paving of the sanctury charmber, an intact sacred deposit composed of a quincunx of five gold leaves. The larger central leaf was engraved with the outline of a standing bull: the traditional mount of Shiva.

Thma Bay Kaek dates from the tenth century and was rebuild by king Yasovarman (889-915), the capital of the kingdom was then located in Phnom Bakhng. These are very small ruins.

The spare remains of a brick prasat, now disappeared, leaving only a doorframe, lintel and a bit of the terrace. A sacred relic of five gold leaves, one bearing the image of Nandi (Shiva’s bull), was discovered at this site. Combine with visit to Prasat Bei/Baksei Chamkrong.
